I just came across this extremely strange review, if it can be called that, of Quaristice, the upcoming new Autechre album. Perhaps it is trying to be as mind bending as Autechre’s music can often be?
I pray silently among the cacophony for my stop to come but instead we are delayed due to a sick passenger at 42nd Street Times Square. I am assured by the grimy, muffled speaker above me that we should be moving shortly and that we should be patient. Only minutes earlier, this same politely authoritarian voice advised me to keep an eye out for suspicious packages and activity from my fellow passengers. Instead of figuring out whether or not to trust this fourth simultaneous assault on my senses, I turn back a page and consider how late I already am for work.
Those freaks have always left strange reviews for Ae. This ain’t the first.
Ah, I don’t think I’ve ever read one of their Ae reviews before.
Generally they tend to review things in a reasonably normal fashion. Maybe they reserve special reviewing for Autechre.
Strange to see the president dropping in here.
